Export Technologies was founded in 2000 to deploy the IRP solution for Chain Reaction Cycles. The histories of both companies are closely intertwined until 2013.
Being at the heart of a business that grew from a £0.5m mail order company to an international cycling retailer turning over £170m has defined Export Technologies’ expertise.
In its first month of trading, Chain Reaction Cycles achieved over £9,000 in online sales. By 2004, annual sales had reached £6 million, growing nearly 100% to reach £11.2 million in 2005. By 2012, global sales reached in excess of £165 million with more than two thirds of revenues coming from outside the UK.
In 2011, Export Technologies faced a critical dilemma: to continue as a company focused on, and defined by a single customer, or to pursue a path of expansion and leverage a decade of experience.
The company chose the latter course and embarked on a new strategy, building to a current portfolio of over 30 customers.
